Unpaid invoices are daily occurrences for companies, especially those whose processes are still focussed on paper invoices sent by post: they can get lost, returned as undeliverable, or simply forgotten by the customer; in some cases, of course, the recipient has no intention of paying (for a variety of reasons). The standard option for dealing with unpaid invoices is to pass them on to a claims management company, yet few such agencies approach debtors with any level of delicacy, jeopardising customer relationships where there has been an innocent mistake. CollectAI is one of the few companies to take a sensitive approach.
The concept is to use artificial intelligence to up conversion rates, increase turnover, and up customer satisfaction. This means avoiding an overly aggressive approach and staying friendly to resolve outstanding payments. To achieve this, CollectAI contacts customers using their preferred means of communication and offers a wide range of payment options; if necessary, it also takes over dunning and claims recovery, but never loses sight of customer satisfaction. In recovery cases, this means improving the customer’s long-term repayment quotient rather than simply demanding money. The service went into testing in 2016 and was optimised on the basis of the results, allowing CollectAI to now offer premium claims management services.
